The EU Working Time Directive came into force in April 2005 and requires that operators of hgv vehicle fleets must collect and store data on the working practices of all drivers falling under the directive.
While paper based and Tacho based systems will work, they are both inaccurate and cumbersome to operate. Cellular and pda style systems are fiddly for many drivers and unreliiable in operation.
The CS Electronics approach is to use a dedicated in-vehicle terminal (WDT960) which is simple and straight forward to operate, ensuring driver acceptance. Being vehicle based it will not get lost, dropped or damaged. The system can accommodate two vehicle staff, each with their own identity and WTD data file.
